The Lore
The festivities include dancing and music and is concluded with a wedding between the two most beautiful young adults from the commune. This arrangement and ceremony is directed by the head priest of the community. This is considered to be a great honor to the villagers.
The Bride and Groom are treated as divine entities for the duration of the festival. When the dawn of the next day breaks, the newly weds are lead down to the lake where they are meant to dissolve into the glacial waters and join their god in holy matrimony in the underworld.
Nestled deep in the Flowering mountains, sleeps a community of mustard cultivators who live in total isolation. Together they work in harmony to appease their hungry god that sleeps dormant beneath the alpine lake where their ancestors settled.
Each spring in order to ensure a bountiful harvest and the successful production of wedding mustard, the villagers hold an annual festival to celebrate the lake god.
