The Lore

One night a young boy burst into the Tyracha Tavern. He begged the barkeep for a hot meal in exchange for 3 barrels of spices. The barkeep agreed but demanded to know his story: The boy said that he had been a stowaway aboard the Santa Maria; a merchant ship that blew off course near the tyracha triangle.

While plotting a course the ship was spontaneously engulfed in smoke. A fire whipped from the ocean, licked the ships hull clean then swallowed the Santa Maria into its salty belly. The boy managed to escape and blacked out clinging to debris.

He awoke on a bank inside of a glimmering cavern filled with treasures and foods from around the world. Next to him, a makeshift rowboat carrying 3 barrels of spices labeled Santa Maria. “Pirates!” he trembled. Near the back of the cave there was a roaring fire and bubbling cauldron. The aromas were intoxicating but the boy was jerked to attention by a loud banging of cookware coming from a pantry.

FROM CAVERN TO TAVERN

A ghostly chef in a bone mask emerged and began squeezing limes into the boiling pot. Starving but fearing his fate the boy slipped into the rowboat and trolled away undetected. On the deck he found the charred remains of a toy ship stuck with numerous pins. From the shadows he observed the voodoo pirate cooking something unbelievable and wishing he could have stayed for dinner…

Thats some story lad!” said the barkeep as he handed him a steaming bowl, “but it could never beat Tyracha’s Jerk chicken right here.” The wild smells of the sauce overtook the boy and brought him right back to that cavern. The abrupt sounds of cookware clamoring from the kitchen startled the boy again. Through the service window he saw the same ghostly chef from the voodoo cave.“That’s our new chef,” said the barkeep
